Opacity Magazine (2022)
This was a collaborative project with two of my peers in which we designed a magazine cover identity based on the 99% Invisible podcast. Then we each designed a spread based on a podcast episode. Episode 412: “Where Do We Go From Here?” discusses the origins of segregation in restrooms, and the lack of inclusive designs for transgender and disabled people in these public spaces. The use of pink and blue type throughout these spreads alludes to the stiff gender binary enforced through most public restrooms, along with various modern signage examples.
